The apple blossoms are in bloom at Ten Apple Farm |
We pleased to announce that we have finally settled on a name for our farm! We definitely have a bias towards farm names that recall some natural or geographical feature that makes a farm special or unique. In our case we decided to name the farm after the ten old apple trees that make up our small orchard. And so we are calling our place
Ten Apple Farm. It's also a nice homage to
Appleton Creamery, the farm of our friend and goat mentor Caitlin Hunter, and the place where we got our goats. A close runner-up was the name Mole Hill Farm, named after the great number of moles we have living in the backyard, and a reference to the scale on which we are farming.
